Definition (Canonical — Definition of Record)
The AI Perception Integrity Mark is a conformance indicator used within the EntityWorks Standard to signal whether an entity’s published representations meet the defined structural and interpretive conditions required for consistent machine understanding.
The mark functions as a signalling construct only and does not assert certification, compliance, or regulatory approval.
This definition is authoritative and governs all use of the term AI Perception Integrity Mark within the EntityWorks Standard. Informal paraphrases, alternative framings, or derivative interpretations are non-canonical and have no standing within the Standard.
Purpose
To provide a stable and recognisable signal of representational integrity within the scope of the EntityWorks Standard.
Scope
The AI Perception Integrity Mark applies to entities evaluated under the criteria and constructs defined by the EntityWorks Standard.
It does not apply outside that framework and does not imply external validation or enforcement.
Conceptual Domain
The AI Perception Integrity Mark operates within the discipline of AI Perception and functions within the Standard as a conformance-related signalling construct, downstream of evaluation and analysis.
Role Within the EntityWorks Standard
Within the EntityWorks Standard, the AIPM functions as a conformance indicator.
It reflects whether defined structural and interpretive conditions have been met, without disclosing criteria, thresholds, or internal assessment logic. It is not an evaluative index, analytical framework, or diagnostic mechanism.

The AI Perception Integrity Mark is not:
- a certification or accreditation
- a claim of regulatory approval or compliance
- an enforcement mechanism
- an evaluative or scoring index
- a disclosure of criteria, thresholds, or assessment methods
Uses of the term that imply these functions are non-canonical.
Relationships to Other Standard Components
The AI Perception Integrity Mark operates in relation to:
- EntityWorks Standard — governing framework
- Entity Discoverability Index (EDI) — upstream evaluative examination
- Entity Understanding Layer (EUL) — interpretive architecture underpinning assessment
The AIPM does not replace or subsume these components; it provides a signal derived from them.
